I found this wonderful article in one of the many magazines I buy (usually used, at our public library) that told all the wonderful energy saving virtues of using a crock pot. It was full of great facts and now I can’t find the magazine anywhere to share the numbers with you. What I do remember, it cost less than 20 cents of energy to use your crock pot for the 4-6 hours it runs. Compare that to the energy consumed in using your oven. (when I find the article, I will edit this post and give you the exact numbers. )(those of you who know me know how often I misplace things LOL)
Some months back I had discovered a wonderful blog, crockpot365.blogspot.com/. There are so many good recipes there. I didn’t know how versatile a crock pot could be.
Now if I could just find a web site that gave me ideas of things I could cook on the top of my wood burning stove. I think that heat could be used for more than heating water for tea.
